Playing in Customs (Twitch chat)
For viewers watching on Twitch. Everything here is typed in Twitch chat. Watching on YouTube, Kick or TikTok? See the next guide, Playing in Customs (website).

Three kinds of games (only one runs at a time)

  • Competitive Customs: balanced teams from everyone's MMR. Wins and points count in the Penguin League.
  • Casual Customs: random teams, no stats. Just for fun.
  • Playing with Viewers: hop in and play with InnocentPenguin. Random teams, no stats.

A mod (or InnocentPenguin) picks which one is live. When it changes, everyone who was playing leaves the queue, but people waiting stay in line. Check Join Customs to see which is running.

1. Register once

Type !register YourDisplayName in Twitch chat. Use your display name exactly as it appears in Rocket League (spaces are fine).

2. Join the queue

  • When a mod opens the queue, type !join.
  • Type !leave to leave at any time.
  • Type !pos to see your place in line.
  • After you play a match, you're removed from the queue. Type !join again to get back in line.

3. Watch for your colour

  • InnocentPenguin plays every match, so 5 players (in 3v3) are highlighted gold. If he's sitting out, it's 6.
  • Gold "NEXT" on the Join Customs page means you're in the next match.
  • Tan "BACKUP" means you're next if someone drops.
  • When teams are made, the bot posts them in chat (or type !lobby). You'll be on Orange or Blue.

Points

In Competitive Customs, every match you play earns points: more for a win, some for a loss. Check them with !stats. Casual and viewer games don't count.

Your MMR

Your MMR balances the teams and shows in grey next to your name. It can come from the Tracker Network, be set by a mod, or be set by you in Settings. It's shown on your profile with where it came from.

Playing in Customs (website)
For viewers on YouTube, Kick or TikTok, or anyone who'd rather click than type. Everything is done on innocentpenguin.com/customs.

Pick your game

Customs shows Casual Customs and Competitive Customs; Playing with Viewers has its own page. Only one runs at a time. The live one fills the page with the stream and chat, the match, Join and the queue, and glows orange. The others just say "Not active". When the activity changes, everyone who was playing leaves the queue, but people waiting stay in line. Competitive uses balanced teams and counts toward the Penguin League; the others use random teams with no stats.

Before your first match (one time)

  1. Log in: press Log in to play on the Customs page (or Log in at the top left) and pick YouTube, Kick, TikTok or Twitch. No Twitch account needed.
  2. Set your display name in Settings, exactly as it shows in Rocket League. Double-check it: once it's set it's locked, and changing it means submitting a ticket for a mod.

Good to know: if you link Twitch later, the bot starts using your Twitch name, so your points start fresh under that name.

Joining a match

  1. Open Join Customs and click the live activity.
  2. When the pill at the top says Queue open, press Join queue.
  3. The bot's reply shows right under the button (for example "You joined the queue at position #4!").
  4. Press Leave queue any time to drop out.
  5. After you play a match you're removed from the queue. Press Join again to get back in line.

The queue tab (on every page)

Look for the QUEUE tab on the left edge of any page. Click it to pop out the queue: the stream (with Refresh and Chat buttons; Chat opens a few lines of chat and a chat bar under the player), the live activity, a summary of the match, Join/Leave, and the whole queue. Names link to profiles. If you're in line, the tab pulses red and shows your spot. On a phone it opens almost full screen; close it with the ✕ in the corner.

Reading the page

  • Orange vs Blue in the middle shows who's playing right now.
  • Queue on the right lists everyone in order as name, grey MMR, then | display name, with logos for the platforms each player has linked. Use the display name to find people in the Rocket League lobby. Your own row pulses with a red ◀ YOU.
  • When InnocentPenguin is playing, he's always at the top of the queue.
  • Gold "NEXT" means you're in the next match. Tan "BACKUP" means you're next if someone drops.
  • "PinguinoB0t offline" means Streamer.bot (PinguinoB0t) isn't running right now, so Join is greyed out.

Your MMR

MMR balances Competitive teams. It comes from the Tracker Network, a mod, or you. You can set your own once in Settings (after a warning, like your display name). It's locked after that; a mod can unlock it or you can ask. Your profile shows your MMR and where it came from.

Something not working?

  • Join is greyed out: you're not logged in, the queue is closed, the bot is offline, or you're on a page for an activity that isn't the live one (the banner at the top tells you which one is).
  • Red "You haven't set your display name yet": click it and set your display name in Settings.
  • Still stuck? Submit a ticket.
Your account, profile and linked platforms

Logging in

Press Log in next to InnocentPenguin at the top left and pick Twitch, YouTube, Kick or TikTok. The site only reads your public name and picture (and, for Twitch, whether you're a sub or mod). It never sees your password.

Linking more platforms

  1. Open your name, then Settings.
  2. Under Linked accounts, press Link next to a platform.
  3. Approve it, and it's added to the same profile.

Link Twitch to get your badge (STREAMER/LEAD/MOD/SUB). Competitive Customs works with or without Twitch.

Primary account

Your primary account is the platform you first signed in with. Its name and picture represent you. It's locked; to change it, submit a ticket.

Profile links

Each linked platform can show on your public profile. They all start hidden; turn them on in Settings → Linked accounts → Show on profile.
